Amina (16)
I’ve been dancing for as long as I can remember. Dance is my way of dealing with stuff
and expressing emotions I can’t express verbally. With 8.2 I hope to discover a new side
of me and new ways to approach my dancing.
Sadie (16)
Dance has always meant a lot to me and I would sacrifice everything for it.
I wonder how it is to make your work out of your passion.
Julie (17)
Ending the internal struggle although the butterfly and caterpillar
are completely different.
They are one and the same.
Ebe (17)
I’m ready to let the insanity of humanity enter my mind,
How can you be free as an artist in the system we all live in, and as well be
grateful for the safety the system offers?
Let me put it this way, for me art is something that grows, it doesn’t follow a punctual
clock, you can’t put deadlines on art. My art grows on the rithm of my heartbeat.
Mimbi (13)
I love music, I listen to it all the time, in class, on the street or in my room.
I wish I knew the influences of Kendrick Lamar.
Nick (20)
I started dancing at the age of 15.
I was always fascinated by performing arts especially dance and theatre.
Dance for me is a way of handling my thoughts, feelings and emotions. If people
ask me how many languages I speak, I tell them Dutch, English, French and
the language of dance.
Tars (15)
I’m a breakdancer, I’ve been dancing for about 6 years.
I just love the culture, music, clothes, vibe,… of hip hop. Maybe even more than the dance itself.
When I listen to rap, I notice that a lot of verses are written like thoughts, do rappers write for themselves or for the audience?
